CFL1 and neoplasm: Immunoreactivity for total cofilin-1, an actin regulatory protein essential for directed cell migration in many cell types, was high (80/81) in tumor samples (independently of TNM) and mostly localized in the cytoplasm (Figure 2C), whereas phospho-cofilin (p-cofilin) staining was decreased or negative (7/11) and localized in both nuclei and cytoplasm (Figure 2D).
