One study that used a serological analysis of recombinant cDNA expression libraries (SEREX) found that MTA1 was preferentially expressed in a panel of malignant prostate carcinoma tissues compared with normal tissues, which suggests that MTA1 may be required for prostate carcinoma metastasis [3] Another study found that MTA1 was selectively over-expressed in metastatic prostate cancer compared to clinically localized prostate cancer and benign prostate tissue [4]. The gene discussed is MTA1; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
