HuR has been identified as a trans-acting factor that promotes COX-expression and it is known that cytoplasmic HuR expression correlates with poor clinical outcome and with COX-2 expression in ovarian carcinoma [29], human keratinocytes after UVB irradiation [56] and in colon carcinogenesis [37], [57]. The gene discussed is ELAVL1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
