The dramatic increase in CRNDE (44- to 55-fold) in both CD4(+) and CD8(+) cells of AML patients (Le Dieu et al., 2009) suggests that loss of CRNDE expression may correlate with the transition to a single-positive stage rather than with selection of CD4(+) over CD8(+). Here, CD8A is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
