EXOC4 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Importantly, we identified a number (89 and 176 in male and female PGCs, respectively) of CGIs outside of an IAP context in which DNA methylation was incompletely erased at E13.5 (Figure 4C shows the example of the Exoc4 gene which is associated with type 2 diabetes and involved in insulin-stimulated glucose transport [Inoue et al., 2003]).
