Regarding laboratory tests, anaemia (defined as haemoglobin ≤ 10 g/dL) was detected in 12.3% of the patients, ESR ≥ 30 mm/hour in 18%, platelets count > 400.000/mm3 in 35.9%, and albumin ≤ 3.0 g/dL in 3.2%. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and anemia (phenotype).
