BEST1 and adult-onset foveomacular vitelliform dystrophy: In addition to VMD, BEST1 variants have been associated with several other eye diseases [22] including adult-onset vitelliform macular dystrophy [25], autosomal recessive bestrophinopathy [26-28], autosomal dominant vitreoretinochoroidopathy [29,30], retinitis pigmentosa [31], microcornea, retinal dystrophy, cataract, and posterior staphyloma (MRCS syndrome) [32].
