The model of pooled dry and wet AMD variants revealed strongly significant adjusted risks in case of the presence of homozygous polymorphisms in the CFH and HTRA1 genes, increasing the odds of AMD by more than five and nearly ten times (OR = 5.3, 95%CI: 2.5–11.5, p<0.0001, and OR = 9.8, 95%CI: 3.3–29.5, p<0.0001), respectively. The gene discussed is CFH; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
