The API2-MALT1 fusion gene, which results from a t(11;18)(q21;q21) translocation, has been identified as the most frequent chromosome translocation in MALT lymphoma cells [4], [5], and Liu et al.[6] have reported that it is a potential predictor of resistance to H. pylori eradication therapy. The gene discussed is BIRC3; the disease is MALT lymphoma.
