AGT and Hepatic fibrosis: Infusion of angiotensin II increased TGF-β1 in bile-duct-ligated mice, accelerating liver fibrosis [27], and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) have been shown to attenuate liver fibrosis by downregulating TGF-β1 production and other components of extracellular matrix that contribute to hepatic fibrogenesis [28–33].
