Beneficial effect of TMPAP expression in the RVLM on LV function was accompanied by lower plasma concentration of noradrenaline (1.0 ± 0.2 ng/ml in the post-MI/TMPAP group vs. 1.6 ± 0.2 ng/ml in the post-MI/EGFP group; P < 0.05; Wilcoxon-Mann–Whitney U test) (Fig. 4a), indicative of a reduced sympathetic tone.
