Specifically, our discovery of suspension-induced up-regulation of TrkB and NTF3 in breast cancer cells via NF-κB supports earlier work showing that polo-like kinase 1 (PLK1) is transcriptionally activated by RelA in suspended esophageal squamous cell carcinomas, leading to anoikis resistance [67].
