The splicing pattern of SMN1 exon 7 in GM20384 cells appeared to be identical to those observed in other cell types including BD, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and neuronal SH-SY5Y cell lines, all of which carried SMN2. Here, we took advantage of GM20384 cell line as a model system to examine SMN1-specific splicing regulation. This evidence concerns the gene SMN1 and Parkinson disease.
