CD40LG and ischemia: Presence of this IgM has led to the discovery of two distinct self-antigens (ischemia-specific antigens), namely type A and C non-muscle myosin heavy chain (NMHC-II; Zhang et al., 2006) and more recently, actin cytoskeleton has been shown to bind IgM during ischemia, leading to reperfusion injury (Shi et al., 2009).
