Because aPC has an ameliorative effect on LPS-induced coagulopathy [21,22], the amelioration of LT-induced coagulopathy was compare to that caused by LPS-treatments (20 mg/kg), and the results showed that aPC treatments significantly suppressed both the LT- and the LPS-mediated induction of plasma D-dimer and thrombomodulin (Figure 5A, experiment outline; 5B, D-dimer; 5C, thrombomodulin).
