Transient transfection analysis of the −1676Δ−1540/−90 CYP11A1 construct in normal and PCOS theca cells resulted in almost identical increases in basal and forskolin-stimulated luciferase activity (Fig. 3B), which were significantly higher than that observed with the full length −1676 CYP11A1 construct. This evidence concerns the gene CYP11A1 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
