To determine whether CXCR2/CXCR2 ligand interaction contributes to the differential PMN recruitment in C. albicans infected kidneys, we evaluated renal KC, MIP-2 and DCIP-1 mRNA levels at day 2 and day 4 post-infection and found, in agreement with previous studies [28], a significant induction of these chemokines in response to C. albicans infection in the presence or absence of endogenous TSP1. The gene discussed is CXCL17; the disease is infection.
