DLX5 was also shown to be recurrently gained and over-expressed in 7/29 osteosarcoma clinical samples based on identical types of microarray data [27], and DLX5 was part of a gene expression prediction profile that could distinguish different histological subtypes of osteosarcoma, being down-regulated in fibroblastic osteosarcoma [23].
