Certain drugs, such as 17-(allylamino)-17-demethoxygeldanamycin and 4,4’-diisothiocyanatostilbene-2,2’-disulfonic acid, have been shown to increase intracellular iodide retention times in thyroid cancer cells[16], and it is possible that they may exert a similar effect on NIS-expressing medulloblastoma cells.
