Splice variants or altered expression of CIZ1 have also been reported to be associated with other cancers, including medulloblastoma, breast cancer, and Ewing's sarcoma (Warder & Keherly 2003; den Hollander & Kumar 2006; Rahman et al. 2007) and with other disorders including Alzheimer disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and cervical dystonia (Judex et al. 2003; Dahmcke et al. 2008; Xiao et al. 2012), many of which report alteration in subnuclear localization. This evidence concerns the gene CIZ1 and cancer.
