In autoimmune pancreatitis, HCO3- concentration in pancreatic juice is remarkably reduced prior to treatment as well as in other forms of CP (Figure 4), whereas 3 months of steroid therapy restored the mislocalization of the CFTR to the proper apical plasma membrane and significantly improved the HCO3- concentration in pancreatic juice (Figure 4). Here, CFTR is linked to autoimmune pancreatitis.
