Of these 16 genes, RPL14L (downregulated in lung metastases in both cell lines) has previously been identified as a candidate breast cancer metastasis regulating gene [19], and loss of TGFBR2 (downregulated in lung metastases in both cell lines) has previously been shown to promote metastasis in mouse models [20]. The gene discussed is TGFBR2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
