STK11 and Hepatic steatosis: Although we have shown here that there is no significant change in cellular ATP upon baicalin stimulation in HeLa (Figure 1C) and HepG2 (Figure 7B) cells, we cannot at this stage exclude that baicalin could activate AMPK through the AMP/LKB1 pathway for its protective effect on hepatic steatosis suggested by our previous studies [11].
