Our findings that NT-proBNP and cTnT are independent predictors of mortality, are in accordance with recent observations in both patients with chronic heart failure and stable coronary artery disease, [40,41] as well as in the general population, [42,43] demonstrating that NT-proBNP and cTnT measured with a sensitive assay provide complementary prognostic information. This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and coronary artery disorder.
