Additionally, two somatic mutations (chr12:g.88889449G>A and chr12:g.88887136G>A), in putative binding sites for miR-203 and miR-183, respectively, were located in the 3′UTR of KITLG. Expression of miR-183 has been shown to be correlated with expression of miR-203 [62], and both miRNAs are involved in suppression of expression of stem cell factors in cancer cells [62] and in proliferation of cancer [62], [63].
