In another large case-control study of Vietnamese children, a variation at the HLA-A locus was significantly associated with susceptibility to dengue hemorrhagic fever; specifically, children with HLA-A*33 were less likely to develop dengue hemorrhagic fever, and children with the HLA-A*24 allele were at an increased risk of developing dengue hemorrhagic fever [21]. Here, HLA-A is linked to Dengue hemorrhagic fever.
