The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of raw cabbage and sauerkraut juices of different origins (industrial or organic farming) and their major indole components (I3C and DIM) on aromatase expression in two breast cancer cell lines differing in estrogen receptor status (MCF7—estrogen dependant and MDA-MB-231—estrogen independent) and comparison with nontumorigenic/immortalized breast cell line (MCF10A). This evidence concerns the gene CYP19A1 and breast carcinoma.
