Studies in NAFLD patients revealed that n-3 LCPUFA administration decreased serum transaminases [35], [38], TNF-α [35], soluble TNF receptor 1 and 2 levels, and oxidative stress markers [38], with improvement in hepatic steatosis [35], [38], fibrosis, hepatocyte ballooning, and lobular inflammation in 85% of the patients [38]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and fatty liver disease.
