Both the Ntrk2 and Wnt signalling pathways are implicated in depression and, consistent with the notion that our molecular findings represent early depression neuropathology, the stress-induced perturbations in these pathways were prevented by pretreatment with an antidepressant, fluoxetine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. This evidence concerns the gene NTRK2 and depressive symptom measurement.
