We next analyzed BMI-1 expression in different AML subtypes, including M2 (median: 0.400), M3 (median: 0.156) and M5 (median: 0.295), and all had a significantly higher expression level compared to the HI group (p=0.003, p=0.01 and p=0.004, respectively), while the BMI-1 expression level in the M2-CR (median: 0.070) and M3-CR (median: 0.099) groups was not significantly different in comparison to that of the HI group (p=0.514 and p=0.361, respectively) (Figures 1 and 2). The gene discussed is BMI1; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
