Applying Hardy-Weinberg equation, our results showed that in the normal control group, the Arg16Gly β2AR genotypes were in Hardy-Weinburg equilibrium, while overweight and obese Saudi subjects have a higher frequency of the Gly16 allele, and the subjects who carry Gly16 homozygote genotype have greater BMI and waist-to-hip ratios (abdominal obesity) associated with higher levels of cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-C, serum leptin, and HOMA-IR. Here, ADRB2 is linked to Abdominal obesity.
