While the clinical manifestations of NF2 include central and peripheral nervous system tumors (nerve sheath tumors, meningiomas and ependymomas), cutaneous lesions, ocular pathology and peripheral neuropathy [4], the hallmark of NF2 is the development of bilateral cochleovestibular schwannomas (CVSs) [5]. The gene discussed is NF2; the disease is nerve sheath neoplasm.
