A variable number tandem repeat (VNTR) of 7 alleles in the dopamine D4 receptor gene (DRD4) and a 148-bp microsatellite repeat in the dopamine D5 receptor gene (DRD5) have been consistently associated with ADHD [11], [12], [13], [14], [15], [16]. The gene discussed is DRD4; the disease is attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder.
