Our recent study clearly demonstrated that the anti-invasive and antimetastatic effects of AC against highly metastatic human breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231) are due to the inhibition of invasion and metastasis regulatory proteins such as MMP-2, MMP-9, uPA, uPA receptor, and VEGF through down-regulation of the MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway [27]. Here, MMP9 is linked to breast carcinoma.
