No beneficial effects on eczema or sensitization were found in three of the four studies using a postnatal treatment approach (Rautava et al., 2006; Taylor et al., 2007; Soh et al., 2009) with one study that used L. acidophilus LAVRI-A1 demonstrating an increased risk of both IgE-associated eczema and atopic sensitization at 1 year of age (Taylor et al., 2007).
