To this end, recent preliminary results from a phase I clinical trial of the MEK1/2 inhibitor GSK1120212 in selected solid malignancies with a high frequency of BRAF mutation (melanoma, pancreatic, non-small cell lung and colorectal cancers) were impressive with just under three quarters of BRAF mutant melanoma patients demonstrating either a partial response or stable disease with therapy[49].
