For the TNM clinical stages, the strongly positive rate of Ezrin was lower in Stage 0 (35.9%) and stage I (Stage IA: 25.5%; Stage IB: 45.1%) compared with Stage II (78.7%), Stage III (91.5%) and Stage IV (100%), the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05), demonstrating that Ezrin protein overexpression was strongly correlated with the lymph node metastasis and clinical stage of gastric cancers. This evidence concerns the gene EZR and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
