Yarden et al. [41] found the SNP309GG genotype to be significantly associated with risk of BRCA1 related ovarian cancer in Ashkenazi Jews diagnosed before 51 years of age, while Copson et al. [42] detected a non-significant trend for increased incidence of ovarian cancer in British BRCA1 mutation carriers harboring the SNP309GG genotype. Here, BRCA1 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
