Due to its paucity of gene expression in human leukocytes [24], [25], [26], UCP1 was replaced by its homologue UCP2. Amongst 14 genes down-regulated in the striatum of HD mice, 5 genes, including AHCY, ACO2, OXCT1, UCP2, CAP1, were in good agreement with the results in previous animal studies (Table 1). The gene discussed is OXCT1; the disease is Huntington disease.
