Retrospective analyses of Rembrandt datasets also highlighted that IL-8 is the likely key regulated protein in the IL-8/CXCR2 couplet, as CXCR2 expression levels remained uniform across several brain tumor and non-tumor types, and did not influence the probability of patient survival, while elevated IL-8 levels correlated with reduced likelihood of patient survival. Here, CXCL8 is linked to neoplasm.
