Although IRF-8 was originally discovered as an IFN-γ inducible transcription factor essential for normal myelopoiesis [18], [19] and as a tumor suppressor of certain leukemias [18], [20]–[25], our findings revealed a new functional role for IRF-8 in non-hematopoietic malignancies.
