Coinciding with the food intake, body weight, serum leptin concentrations, the serum glucose (mg/dl), insulin (pmole/L) and cortisol (ng/ml) concentrations increased in group-II, subgroup-IICE and subgroup-III, subgroup-IIICE than the control group-I suggesting that these rats developed hyperinsulinemia and hypercortisolemia (Figure 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d). The gene discussed is LEP; the disease is adrenal gland hyperfunction.
