Previous studies have reported that allelic variant LAPTM4B*2 is associated with genetic susceptibility to gallbladder carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, gastric cancer and colon cancer [23]–[27], and these data suggest that LAPTM4B gene polymorphism plays an important role in carcinogenesis. The gene discussed is LAPTM4B; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
