LAPTM4B and gallbladder carcinoma: As reported in our previous study, we found that the allelic frequencies of the LAPTM4B*2 allele were 37.9% in the GBC group and 24.8% in the control group, representing a significant difference between these two groups (P<0.001), and suggesting that the LAPTM4B*2 allele is associated with significantly increased risk of gallbladder carcinoma [27].
