Previous findings have revealed that LAPTM4B allelic variation is associated with increased risk of cancers such as gastric cancer [6], gallbladder carcinoma [7], liver cancer [8], [9], ovarian cancer [10], cervical carcinoma [11] and colon cancer [12], but it is not associated with rectal or esophageal squamous cell carcinoma [12].
