Interestingly, RhoA prenylation and the activation of its downstream target ROCK have been connected with the metabolism of the Amyloid Precursor Protein and Alzheimer’s Disease [30], suggesting that the posttranslational regulation of RhoA by isoprenylation also plays a role for the integrity of the nervous system in vertebrates. This evidence concerns the gene APP and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
