INS and Insulin resistance: Similarly, when prepubertal subjects were compared with all other subjects (subjects in group 2 and 3 combined), significantly higher insulin sensitivity (WBISI, mean ± SD 6.07 ± 5.7 versus 3.42 ± 2.7, P < 0.01) and lower insulin resistance (HOMA-IR, mean ± SD 3.68 ± 2.7 versus 5.22 ± 4.0, P = 0.04) were seen in prepubertal subjects.
