QRT-PCR results demonstrate a higher KPNA2 expression in all types of OMGCT (including dysgerminomas, yolk sac tumors, immature teratomas, mixed ovarian germ cell tumors and embryonal carcinoma) in comparison with normal ovarian tissues (1.46±1.36,mean±SD), with KPNA2 over-expression in mixed ovarian germ cell tumors (3.89±1.44, mean±SD), yolk sac tumors (3.09±1.70, mean±SD), dysgerminomas (6.04±5.95, mean±SD) and immature teratomas (5.14±5.64, mean±SD) being the most significant (P = 0.024, P = 0.07, P = 0.0004, P = 0.06, respectively) (Figure 1C). Here, KPNA2 is linked to dysgerminoma.
