NAT1 and urinary bladder carcinoma: The current research was triggered in view of the alarmingly high incidence of bladder cancer in Lebanon, and based on an unusually high NAT1*14A allelic frequency clustering in a study we previously conducted among a sample of healthy Lebanese-Americans residing in Michigan (NAT1*14A: 21.4% among Lebanese-Americans compared to 4% or lower among all other populations and ethnic groups investigated for that particular allele) [20, 23, 24].
