This is consistent with the report of Fusco et al.[18], who found after growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) and arginine stimulation tests that NAFLD patients had lower peak levels of serum GH and insulin-like growth factor (IGF1), and higher levels of serum GH-binding protein (GHBP) and insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 3 (IGFBP3). This evidence concerns the gene IGFBP3 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
