It is assumed that PLD is linked to clinically relevant consequences.[19] The most frequently reported clinical complication related to drug-induced PLD is liver toxicity.[20] In particular, the well-known PLD-inducer amiodarone (12) has been reported to cause toxicity or general damage to the liver.[19], [20b], [21] The application of PLD-inducing drugs, such as fluoxetine (79),[20c] has also been frequently reported to cause other clinical effects, such as lung toxicity.[22] In general, lysosomal storage diseases are often related to altered phospholipids levels.
